Happy Thanksgiving!!

Been a while since my last blog! I am going to make a it a goal of mine this coming year to keep up with my blog much better.
So... if anyone has been following me this year it has been  rough one. The eGolf Professional Tour did not go well at all. I played a lot of poor golf and beat myself up mentally badly. The end of the year began to turn a round a lot for me though. I worked really hard and got my mind in the right place (positive vs negative), it has been quite difficult as I say that I have spent a good bit of my golfing career being negative on myself with this year being the year that finally was so negative that it affected my game and my life a bit. But going forward I am excited because I KNOW that I am a more positive person both on and off the course.

My year recently ended with PGA Tour Q School this past week. I again made it to the second round of the Q School after making it thru first stage in Florence, NC. I played some pretty solid golf in Florence and was very pleased to advance again to the Hombre in Panama City Beach, FL. This was my third time playing at this site and was looking forward to going back and also that I had played the course several times. Unfortunately, I didn't make it thru shooting a poor round in the third round. I was inside the cut line thru two rounds but after the third was pretty much out of it. Very frustrating as I was playing well but again have to step back and figure out what the plans will be for 2013 since they won't be on the Web.com Tour or the PGA Tour.

Currently I am back in Brownstown with my family and friends! It is great to be home and see everyone! I am also looking into what is my next move. Right now there is a chance that I am going over to Thailand to play Asian Tour School. It is a great tour over there and I have some friends that are traveling over as well so could be a good opportunity. I will keep everyone posted on where I am going in the future. Until then going to be working on the game and hitting the gym! Might even try and caddy a bit back in Jacksonville so if you need a caddy out at TPC come hit me up!

Also, please reach out to me either thru email, facebook, or twitter!! Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

eGolf Woodside Plantation

This past week I was in Aiken, SC playing in an eGolf event. Unfortunately, another missed cut... no fun for anyone.
Well this one was a hard one to take as usual but coming into the week I was so positive and upbeat about my game and where I was mentally. I played one practice round and another round in a Pro-Am at the course. The pro am day went great, met some very nice members at the club and played some good golf. It was definitely a good way to start off the tournament week.
So round 1. I was off to a good start shot -2 on my front nine. Didn't do anything great but also didn't make any mistakes. Then made the turn had three bad holes in a row. Made one swing off the tee that caused a bogey then hit two very poor putts, one leading to a bogey and the other was a short birdie try.  After those three holes I actually had some decent looks at birdie just couldn't get anything to go. I even hit a flagstick on one par 5 knocking my ball off then green when I would have had a tap in for birdie. So round one I shot even. Not good, not bad but still easily able to get back into the tournament and play the weekend.
Round 2. I again started off well sitting at -1 thru 8 holes. Proceeded to make a silly bogey on 9 to turn at even. Just needed to put together a solid back nine and I would make the cut and play on. Unfortunately a few loose swings came up and put myself too far behind. I had it to even for the tournament with 4 holes to play then missed a 5 footer for par which all but put me out of everything. I played poorly to finish but already had it in my head that I had missed another cut.
I was really disappointed this week with how it went. I know I had worked hard and did everything I could but still fell short.
Good news is is that there is still Q School ahead and that can make any year a great year!! I am in Hilton Head, SC for a couple days working with my coach. Had a good day today, everything looks great just a little off. It is crazy how little of a difference there is to shooting even par and -6. Just a swing here and a few putts.
Up next for me is still TBD. I am thinking about trying to do a few Monday Qualifiers for the Web.com tour instead of some eGolf events... I will let you all know as soon as something happens. I just signed up for Q School for 2012!! Looking forward to that!
Until next time, thanks for reading and following me, Im going to be working hard to make this year a good one!!

eGolf Irish Creek and River Landing

Last week I played the eGolf event in Kannapolis, NC at Irish Creek and Salsibury CC. The golf courses gave up some unreal scores as the first 59 ever on the tour was shot and there were many other great scores. My game hasn't been in any shape to keep up with those scores but I actually played pretty good overall. I shot -5 for the first two rounds making the cut by one shot which was -4. Scores are getting really low I feel and there is definitely way less room for mistakes.
Rounds three and four went pretty good for the most part as well. I hit the ball solid both days but really didn't make any putts. Very frustrating especially when you know the scores are as low as they had been. I ended the week finishing tied for 50th or so which wasn't a good finish at all but on the positive side I did feel like it was getting better and it was a cut made.
This past week we were in Wallace, NC at River Landing CC. This was definitely one of the better courses we have played all year as the greens were very fast and firm. This past event might have been my best ball striking week of the year. I actually knew where the ball was going for the most part!! The first round I missed the first green of the day then hit the next 17. Unfortunately I didn't make anything and had 36 putts on the round :(. I shot 1 under 71 the first round and scores weren't overly low so I was sitting on the cut line. Yesterday, round 2 was a little different than the first as I didn't hit 17 greens but still hit it very well for most of the day. It was a pretty windy day and had it to -3 thru 13 holes then the wheels fell off... I played my last 5 holes in 4 over. I really don't know what happened. I hit some good shots in that stretch and hit a lot of putts which isn't good. I was very upset with myself for missing this cut because I did feel that I played well and had some momentum going but everything kind of crashed at the end. So now I am back in Jacksonville, I have this week off then I will be back playing two events in SC. I am going to work on the game very hard and I know there will be good results ahead. This has been a very difficult year for me on the course. I haven't ever struggle this bad for this long, I know it will turn around just have to keep myself from going completely crazy and being too negative on myself.
Good news is the biggest part of the year is still ahead and it only takes a few weeks to turn it around. Looking forward to what is ahead. Thanks for following me and supporting me everyone!!

Finally Updating...

It has been a really really long time since my last blog and sorry for the lack of updating. This has been a very slow season for me as far as my golf game is concerned. I have been working very hard just but everything seems to be going in the wrong direction for me.
So far this season I have played in about 10 events on the eGolf and NGA Tours making only 5 cuts. Good news is that I might be turning a corner and heading back in a positive direction. I finished t6 last week in VA on the eGolf Tour. Was only a couple loose swings away from a really good tournament but still very pleased with how things went. I went back to hitting cuts around the course for the most part and it felt really nice. I had been working on hitting draws for a couple months prior to that. I made some swing changes, some of which I think will definitely help me and needed to be changed. Others I think had good intentions but just weren't for me.
Yesterday I was down in Indiana playing in the Nationwide Monday Qualifier. I shot -5 66 on the day and missed even getting into a playoff by 3! Silly low scores to be honest. The course was very easy but 63 by 7+ guys on the day is ridiculous. I had my chances as I played well just made enough mistakes to not get in. Anytime you have to shoot -8 you can't really make any mistakes or miss out on many opportunities. It would have been really nice to play in my home state at a great course Victoria National but wasn't to be this year.
Up next for me... I am home in Brownstown for a bit now which is nice! Just going to be practicing and enjoy being home for a bit. Then I will be off to the Carolinas for a couple eGolf events the first at Irish Creek and then another out in eastern NC.
Check back for some updates, I will do better updating my progress

eGolf Old Field / Chechessee Creek

The second week of the year for me was in Okatie, SC at Oldfield and Chechessee Creek. The week started of much the same as the previous week ended for me... I made some costly mistakes that were very unforced but still managed to escape with a 76. Not a good round by any means and put me well back of the cut line! Not fun working to make cuts but I knew that it was still possible, just had to play like I did a few days prior in the first couple rounds of last weeks tournament. The second day for me I played the secondary course, Chechessee Creek. Chechessee is a cool course and one that is very familiar to me as I worked as a caddy in 2009 at the course. It is always fun to play as course that you have walked around nearly every inch of!! I literally saw way more of the course than I wanted to as a caddy carrying two bags most of the time but it was a great experience and a way to make a little money!
The second round I shot 65 and made the cut by 2! It was a fun round as the conditions were very tough! The wind was blowing at times over 25 mph, and with the small greens at the course I was pleased with how it all unfolded.
The final two rounds were held at Oldfield. The third round was a very difficult day as the winds blew just as hard as round 2 and maybe even slightly harder. I played some good golf making 7 birdies but way way to many bogies on the card shooting -1 71. The final round I ended up with 76 again... I played better than the score just had some unlucky breaks... Up next for me I will be playing the eGolf event in Pinehurst, NC followed by two more events in the Charlotte, NC area. Thanks for following me!!

Beginning of 2012!

Just getting back to the course and likewise to the blog! I am looking forward to the year ahead and what it has in store for me. I can say that I have been working pretty hard this offseason both on my game and also my fitness in the gym. I feel like it will definitely help me and it is a goal of mine to continue hitting the gym throughout the summer while traveling for my tournaments.
On to the beginning of the year... my first event was the eGolf Tour's Palmetto Open in Hilton Head Island, SC. The event is normally the first event on the eGolf's Tour schedule so I have played this event and the courses a couple times. It is always nice to get back on courses that you have played in the past.
The event started off very well for me as I opened with a 6 under 66. It was a very solid round as I made 6 birdies and no bogeys. I was very pleased with how I played and how I stayed mentally in the round. I made some good par saves as well as some great birdies.
The second round I played well again. I didn't hit it nearly as well as day 1 but stayed with the round and shot 5 under to get me to 11 thru 2 rounds. I was tied for first after two rounds so that was pretty fun right out of the offseason!
Unfortunately, as many of you know golf is brutal! The final two rounds set me back to the drawing board to fix what I did wrong and how to better manage myself when there is a little bit of pressure. I shot 76 73 on the weekend to finish the week t6. It was still a good finish but definitely a little disappointed. Every week you learn something about yourself. So it was onto the next week!!
