This was the last week of the journey!!! Finished up the week in Moscow, and it was yet again another memorable week. This week started several weeks ago when I tried to get a visa to get into this country. That was no easy task! They either don't want people to come and visit this country or they just really like to make money off of you any way they can... both answers are correct if you ask me. The visa took me a couple weeks to get and even had to get a second passport to send to the Russian Embassy while I was traveling!
We arrived in Moscow Monday night from Kazakhstan. It was a pretty long trip, didn't fully realize how far away Kazakhstan was! The trip to the hotel from the airport was about 45 min and was not on any major roads! If I was traveling alone I would have been a little nervous along the way. The hotel ended up being nice just was in the middle of nowhere so there was little for us to do. The promoter of the event did arrange a guided trip to the Red Square in Moscow on Wednesday. I went on the trip as it was the first time I had an opportunity to see anything other than a golf course! Red Square was very nice!! Even though I have very little knowledge of the area it was still nice to see. There were some huge building with some amazing architecture in the area! Still can't believe how big the Kremlin Palace was!
The golf course this week was amazing to say the least! One of the best courses I have probably played to be honest. It was a very hard golf course and easily the most difficult course we played all year. I didn't play very well at all for the third straight week but did just make the cut. It was nice to play on the weekend! I ended up the week finishing around 50th. Not a good week for the checkbook but more than anything I was glad to be done with this stretch of tournaments and travel! It has been a tremendous learning experience for me and also a lot of fun to see all different parts of the world! Next time I do this I will be more traveled and it will be easier for me.
I have a couple weeks off now from tournament golf. My next event will be PGA Q School which starts Oct. 19 just north of Charlotte, NC. Looking forward to the next few months as Q School is a professional golfers best way to get a PGA Tour Card for the following year.
A huge thank you to everyone for following my progress and supporting me along the way!! Means more to me than you know!!
I will post blogs from Kazakhstan and France later, my plane is leaving Moscow and don't want to be stuck in Russia!!
